Eren Dinkçi has returned to Werder Bremen on loan from SC Freiburg. Freiburg announced the move on 17 August, confirming the attacker’s return to the club where he began his senior career.
Get German Football News describes the agreement as a season-long loan without a purchase option or obligation. It reports a loan fee in the low six figures; Freiburg’s announcement does not disclose an amount.
The 24-year-old spent the second half of the previous season on loan at Heidenheim, scoring three goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances. Freiburg say he made 36 competitive appearances for them after joining in summer 2024, with one goal.
Dinkçi was born in Bremen and made his Bundesliga debut for Werder at 19. According to Freiburg’s announcement, his earlier Werder spell produced 50 competitive appearances and one goal, before his move to the Breisgau club. His first Heidenheim loan in 2023–24 had brought ten Bundesliga goals, GGFN reports. The outlet also describes him as able to play on either wing, behind the striker or through the middle, giving Werder several ways to use him in attack.
