Schalke 04 head coach Miron Muslic has described his bench options as “game-changers” after Friday evening’s 3-1 Bundesliga win over Union Berlin, according to Get German Football News.
Robin Gosens said Muslic uses that wording deliberately, arguing it matters psychologically for players who start on the bench. He pointed to the contributions of Edin Dzeko, Hee-Chan Hwang and Maximilian Wöber against Union.
Muslic also linked the approach to Schalke’s wider squad competition, saying the players have to fight for their places and that the team’s work in training is intense. The report adds that the same idea had already shown up in Schalke’s 0-0 draw with Bayern Munich, when late changes helped them keep their shape.
