Roma opened their Champions League campaign with a 1-1 draw away to Fenerbahce, according to Football Italia. Bryan Cristante put the visitors ahead before Archie Brown levelled for the Turkish side early in the second half.
The report said Roma had returned to the competition after seven years and had come in on the back of three straight Serie A wins. It also noted that Lorenzo Pellegrini was still unavailable, while Devyne Rensch was back in the squad alongside Donyell Malen, Paulo Dybala and Matias Soulé.
Football Italia described a contest in which Roma controlled possession at times and created chances through Dybala and Malen, but Fenerbahce grew stronger after the break and threatened to turn the game around. The draw leaves Roma with a point from their first group-stage fixture.
