Albert Gudmundsson completed a loan move from Fiorentina to Lazio on 1 September, Football Italia reported. Its completed-deal account describes a €1m loan fee and an option to buy for a further €12m at the end of the season. Those terms remain attributed to reporting; the article does not reproduce the signed contract.
The same account records a different structure when Gudmundsson moved from Genoa to Fiorentina in 2024: a €5.85m loan followed by an obligation to pay a further €16.8m a year later. The earlier transaction and the Lazio agreement therefore should not be treated as interchangeable simply because both began with a loan.
Almost Signed analysis: the important contrast is the purchase decision, not just the headline package. Under the reported Lazio option, the €12m permanent stage requires a later choice to buy; Fiorentina’s earlier arrangement was described as an obligation. Adding Lazio’s two amounts into a €13m headline can describe the possible package, but it should not make the optional purchase appear already committed. The disclosed terms do not establish what conditions, if any, sit outside that headline structure.
Football Italia’s earlier medical-stage report provides the football context: Gudmundsson recorded 19 goals and nine assists in 81 Fiorentina appearances across competitions. That is his previous output, not a forecast of his Lazio role. It also separates the agreement-stage report from the later account that medical checks and signing had been completed.
