Football Italia reports that Juventus are planning to offer Douglas Luiz a new contract after his strong start to the 2026-27 season under Luciano Spalletti. The report says he has started all of Juventus’s first six competitive matches since being reintegrated into the squad.
Douglas Luiz is already under contract until the summer of 2029, but Tuttosport’s reporting says Juventus could seek to push that out to 2030. The same report frames the move as both a sporting reward for his return to form and a way to reduce his depreciated cost on the club’s balance sheet.
The Brazilian also returned to the Brazil squad in September for the first time in two years, which adds to the sense that his standing has improved after a difficult first season in Turin and loan spells in 2025-26.
