Inter have confirmed Hakan Calhanoglu will miss Saturday’s Serie A match against Roma after tests found a muscle strain in the adductor of his right thigh, Football Italia reported. The update came on Tuesday after the Turkey international had already sat out Monday’s 5-3 win over Udinese.
The club said the midfielder was examined at the Humanitas Clinical Institute in Rozzano and that his condition will be assessed over the coming days. That leaves his return timing unresolved, but it does establish he is unavailable for Inter’s trip to the Stadio Olimpico.
Calhanoglu has scored two goals in four appearances across all competitions this season. His absence removes one of Cristian Chivu’s midfield options for a high-profile league game.
