Thierno Barry was at the centre of Everton’s 1-0 win over Ipswich, as Sky Sports reported that his side extended their unbeaten start to the season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. James Tarkowski’s long-range effort hit Barry and wrong-footed Christian Walton for the only goal of the game.
Barry later thought he had added a second when he met Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s corner with a glancing header, but VAR ruled the effort out after judging another player to be interfering from an offside position. Everton had 21 shots but only two on target, while Ipswich also struggled to create enough quality to threaten Jordan Pickford consistently.
