Djed Spence has joined Inter permanently from Tottenham, signing a contract until 30 June 2031. Inter announced the transfer on 15 August, confirming the England international’s return to Italian football after his earlier loan at Genoa.
The fee is not disclosed in Inter’s announcement. BBC Sport reports around €30 million (£25.6 million), while Football Italia puts the package at €35 million including add-ons. These are different reported figures; neither should be presented as an officially confirmed payment.
BBC Sport says Spence made 44 appearances for Tottenham during 2025–26 and 85 in total after arriving from Middlesbrough in 2022. He was part of the side that won the 2024–25 Europa League.
The 26-year-old already has Serie A experience from a six-month Genoa loan in 2024. Inter’s announcement records 16 league appearances during that spell, when he also played on the left flank. His new deal takes him back to Italy on a permanent basis. Spence also featured in all eight of England’s matches at the 2026 World Cup, according to BBC Sport, as the national team finished third in the tournament.
